Konkuk University to hire 36 tenure-track professors for spring 2027 semester
Konkuk University is recruiting 36 tenure-track faculty across 35 fields at its Seoul campus, with applications open Aug. 10-21 and appointments effective March 1, 2027.
Konkuk University has announced a recruitment call for 36 tenure-track professors across 35 academic fields at its Seoul campus, according to a notice issued by the university, which is headed by President Won Jong-pil. Applications will be accepted from Aug. 10 to Aug. 21, and successful candidates will take up their posts on March 1, 2027, the first semester of the 2027 academic year.
All of the advertised positions are on the tenure track, the university said. Applications are submitted through the Konkuk University website, and eligibility requirements differ by field, with details set out in the official notice.
The list of fields is weighted toward artificial intelligence and advanced engineering. The College of Engineering is recruiting in robotics and automotive dynamics and control, artificial intelligence, compilers or human-computer interaction, AI- and data-driven materials design and computational materials engineering, advanced metallic materials for national strategic industries, aerospace structural materials, AI-based bioprocessing and biomanufacturing, intelligent production systems, and smart industrial convergence engineering.
AI also runs through the humanities and design postings. The College of Liberal Arts is hiring in AI communication and journalism for its Department of Media and Communication and in AI convergence content planning and services for its Department of Cultural Content, while the School of Architecture is recruiting in architectural planning and design and in AI construction. The College of Natural Sciences seeks specialists in quantum materials and advanced device physics experiments and in inorganic chemistry.
Other openings span the social sciences and professional schools: international trade or industrial organization in economics and international business in international trade; management information systems and technology management in the College of Business; zoonotic disease control engineering, synthetic biology and AI-based biotechnology or next-generation therapeutic and delivery technologies, and bio-health materials or immunobiology at the Institute of Advanced Convergence Technology; animal environment studies, agrifood economics, environmental science with a water focus, tree physiology and AI-based ecological landscape planning in the College of Life Sciences; veterinary dentistry in the College of Veterinary Medicine; analysis, physical education measurement and evaluation, and learning psychology and learning science or special education in the College of Education; all areas of international trade and business, digital visual communication and the entertainment content industry in the College of International Studies; and counseling for older adults or diagnosis and assessment in the graduate program in counseling psychology.
